Privacy policy
Effective 18 October 2026
FitSync is an iPhone app that copies your health data from Google Health into Apple Health. It has no server of its own. Your data moves only between Google and your iPhone, and never reaches the developer.
What the app accesses
When you sign in with Google, FitSync asks for read-only access to your Google Health data:
- Activity and fitness (
googlehealth.activity_and_fitness.readonly) — steps, distance, calories, heart rate, workouts and VO2 max. - Health metrics and measurements
(
googlehealth.health_metrics_and_measurements.readonly) — heart rate variability, resting heart rate, blood oxygen, respiratory rate, temperature, weight and body fat. - Sleep (
googlehealth.sleep.readonly) — sleep sessions and stages.
FitSync cannot change or delete anything in your Google account.
In Apple Health, FitSync writes the types listed above. It reads Apple Health only to find the samples it wrote itself and to warn you if another app already copies the same data.
Where your data is kept
- Health data from Google is written to Apple Health on your iPhone. From there, Apple’s privacy terms and your Health settings apply, including iCloud sync if you have turned it on.
- A small database on your iPhone records what FitSync has written, keeps recent nightly values for its charts and holds a log of the last 200 sync events. It is excluded from device backups.
- Google sign-in credentials are stored in the iOS Keychain, on this iPhone only.
Sharing
FitSync does not sell, rent or share your data, contains no advertising, analytics, crash reporting or tracking, and sends nothing to the developer. Its only network connections are to Google’s sign-in and Google Health API servers.
The app can create a diagnostic file with raw responses from Google. It is only created when you ask for it, and only leaves your iPhone if you choose to share it yourself.
Google user data
FitSync’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google data is used only to write your health data to Apple Health and to show it in the app. It is not used for advertising, is not transferred to anyone, and is not used to train AI models.
Removing your data
- Settings → Sign out and delete local data revokes FitSync’s access at Google and deletes the credentials and database from your iPhone.
- Data already written to Apple Health stays there until you delete it in the Health app (your profile → Apps → FitSync → Delete All Data from “FitSync”).
- You can revoke access at any time from your Google account permissions.
- Uninstalling the app removes its database and, on reinstall, requires signing in again.
